Our client is a well known and respected importer and distributor of Fresh Produce in the UK. Dealing mainly with non-retail and Wholesale customers but would also get involved with Category Managers.
This is a fast moving, exciting business which now requires an additional Sales / Trading person.
Experience in this area is essential and you would ideally bring a portfolio of customers and procurement / Trading opportunities.
This position is ideal for someone who has proven buying and selling experience in a Fresh Produce company. You would be used to a ‘trading’ environment from the Industry and therefor would be able to feel comfortable buying and selling into their customers (mainly non retail). You would know the Fresh Produce business well and would be able to demonstrate this throughout your trading career…
You would have a proven track record selling into the UK non retail sector and it would be advantageous that you would bring customers with you to this role.
- Will have previous experience in fresh produce trading on a national level.
- You will have a proven track record of delivering sales and new business in the UK non retail market – wholesale, catering and processor markets.
- You will be a team player and have a good ‘can-do’ attitude.
- Will have a book of contacts, both on the supply and customer side, to continue growing and developing.

Working closely with suppliers around the world, our client supplies UK businesses with imported fresh produce, you’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining existing client relationships within the Sales & Marketing department, whilst identifying and targeting new business opportunities particularly in the non-retail sector.
To be successful in this role you will need to be a high calibre sales / commercial or trading professional, with a portfolio of customers in Wholesale Markets, Food Service, Processors, Category Managers. It is unlikely that you would have less than two years experience within the Fresh Produce industry and used to growing business within healthy and stable relationships. A combination of a proactive trading mentality and a strategic thinker would be essential.
We are looking for the following candidate:-
You would be currently working in a Commercial or Sales position within a Fresh Produce operation
Must have strong knowledge of the Fresh Produce Industry
Must have excellent communication skills
Ideally you would have some experience in purchasing
Excellent IT Skills
