Job Purpose:

To deliver a fast, efficient and effective supply chain process to raw material suppliers/factory


  • To liaise with factory, suppliers, stock & intake qc team, analysis and exchange of data and information required to support and maintain an effective and efficient supply chain process.

Key Accountabilities:

Stock Management

Monitor and compare stock levels with customer orders

  • Review daily raw material stock levels via stock sheet.
  • Maintain acceptable stock level for all lines, against programmed orders, ordering top up stock on a daily basis.
  • Advise factory of what stock to use for specific lines/customer.
  • Complete stock reconciliation of stock level with stock on system, investigating and correcting any discrepancies.
  • Programmes with suppliers
  • Raw material rejections & replacement of stock to ensure customer orders are met.

Production Orders

Allocation of stock to confirmed orders on system ensuring correct rates are paid to factory for production.

  • Receive production data from factory, check, correct if necessary, query any anomalies.
  • Allocate stock used, by consignment to correct line produced, recording waste.

Consignment Details

Verify accuracy of data on all consignments.

  • Receive and check the details supplied on all consignments created on the system
  • Create consignments for products procured by the company
  • Monitor stock team confirmation of receipt of stock arrival.
  • Query any differences with stock team of expected consignment details.
  • Send QC reports to supplier
  • Set up varietal codes, sizes, grower/supplier details for QC.
  • Checking Grower specification against customer requirement


  • Check invoices received to ensure correct before authorising payment
  • Advising stock & intake qc team of next day raw material arrivals
  • Completing hand written pallet labels
  • Entering intake on Excel spreadsheet
  • Confirming arrivals on web base portal system
  • Account system updated daily

  • Support Company Initiatives and demonstrate Company Values.
  • To comply with all legal and statutory obligations applicable to the role.
  • Participate in training and personal development activities as required
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks as required by the Company.


Qualifications/ Knowledge & Experience

Specific Knowledge & Experience

  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

Relevant knowledge and experience would include:

  • Knowledge of fruit and / or experience of working with short life products
  • Knowledge of a supply chain process

Specific Skills & Experience

  • Demonstration of strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven Time management skills: Accustomed to working with and meeting time critical deadlines.
  • Computer Literature – at ease with IT software including all packages of Microsoft Office, Excel skills. Navision experience desirable.
  • Sharepoint experience desirable
  • Attention to detail

Our client is a Fresh Produce grower owned business who offer a direct low cost supply to EU and UK Retailers. They source Stone Fruit, Grape and Cherries, Citrus and Berries with both Northern and Southern hemisphere suppliers.

They are looking to develop existing and new business with the appointment of a Trading Manager, Sales and Procurement of product utilising negotiation and communication skills with growers and clients alike.

This is a opportunity for a person currently in a position in Sales or similar or even looking to change directions ( e.g. Quality Control or Product Manager ) looking for their next career step.

You will be a fast learner, enthusiastic with a healthy product knowledge, excellent communication skills and an insatiable drive to succeed.

The Role

As a successful Trading / Sales Manager, you would be motivated to cold call and bring in new customers and business as well as proactively sell and grow their existing accounts.
As a trader you will be marketing the company’s own fresh produce to markets around the country and also utilise your experience to introduce other products as opportunities arise.
Building strong relationships with the markets and developing new contacts where possible.
Working with international sources, ensuring good value and good quality produce is always sent.

Guidance in the role and Training will be provided if / when needed.

They are a internationally successful Produce trading company that are keen to expand their existing trading and sales team with a confident, ambitious and talented Sales Manager’s / Commercial Managers/ Procurement professionals and so on…

Working closely with suppliers around the world, our client supplies UK businesses with imported fresh produce, you’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining existing client relationships within the Sales & Marketing department, whilst identifying and targeting new business opportunities particularly in the non-retail sector.

To be successful in this role you will need to be a high calibre sales / commercial or trading professional, with a portfolio of customers in Wholesale Markets, Food Service, Processors, Category Managers. It is unlikely that you would have less than two years experience within the Fresh Produce industry and used to growing business within healthy and stable relationships. A combination of a proactive trading mentality and a strategic thinker would be essential.
