Our client is a well-known company in the fresh produce industry supplying a variety of UK retail and food service clients. Due to continued expansion and success they are looking for a experienced and highly capable Warehouse Manager to join their buzzing and thriving team in Kent

The successful candidate will be accountable for the end to end management of your business unit including managing efficiency, productivity, people planning and budget management.

Some of the Responsibilities would include:-

  • To organise and oversee the safe, efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of warehouse materials, goods and products to satisfy business operations and customer demand;
  • Responsible for Stock Control Team and the Stock Control of all customer product.
  • Ensure the warehouse is ran as efficiently as possible in line with Budget as agreed with the Head of Operations.
  • hands-on Management and organisation of the warehouse team.
  • Responsible for the yard Supervisor and all external yard space and operations.
  • Plan and co-ordinate the incoming goods, storage and dispatch of items in a timely and efficient manner to achieve team objectives as determined by management;
  • Ensure structured training and development for self and team to enhance skill levels, product, knowledge, flexibility, absence cover, health, safety & welfare of your team;
  • To ensure effective, safe, accurate and timely stock management to include space allocation and stock transfer;
  • Working closely with the Planning department to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Organising and ensuring accurate and periodic cycle counts and stock takes;
  • Timely and accurate transfer and recording of all internal stock movement
  • Ensure the accuracy and strict control of all relevant documentation and administration relevant to your area;
  • Ensure quality procedures and team quality targets are adhered to;
  • Implement and promote the company’s Health and Safety Policy, ensuring safe working conditions and practices within the Warehouse;
  • To be a key holder and open / lock up at appointed start and closing times as required;
  • Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.

  • Undertake any other tasks as reasonably requested by the Head of Operations

Competencies   

Experience

  • Warehouse Management experience (At least 3 years + in a management role)
  • Fresh Produce experience ideally
  • Pick & pack operations experience
  • Stocktaking experience Barcoding Operations
  • Good IT skills mainly (Excel, Word & Outlook e-mails

Qualifications/ Licences

  • Fork lift operator license

Line Leader (Fresh Produce / Top Fruit)

Our clients are a successful family owned Fresh Produce business based in Kent. They are continuously growing and have a reputation for innovation and quality products. They are growers and packers of English Top and Stone Fruit and predominately supply the UK Supermarkets.

Reporting to: Head of Production

Some of the responsibilities of the Line Leader would include:-

*Oversee the running of the production line and the production team.

*Lead motivate and develop the production team, to ensure planned output requirements/quality standards are met

*Ensure all health and safety guidelines are followed.

*Review team performance regularly to identify areas for improvement, and encourage and support individual team members

*Work alongside the Head of Production to ensure that targets e.g. for line efficiency’s, quality and wastage are met.

*Ensure all site Quality, Housekeeping & Hygiene standards are achieved or exceeded.

*Ensure regular communication/briefing to provide the production team with the relevant information to carry out their role to the maximum effect.

*Contribute to the planning, organisation, operation and installation of all new processes and equipment within the factory

*Help to maintain a clean and safe work place

*Investigate and report all incidents

*Manufacture and pack products on the production line as necessary

*Suggest and help implement any cost-saving ideas or improvements

*Maintain a high level of quality with a focus on zero defects.

*Report any equipment faults

*Carrying out QA checks and filling in QA records

*Work as part of a team on the production line as required.

Warehouse Manager (Fresh Produce)

The successful candidate will be accountable for the end to end management of your business unit including managing efficiency, productivity, people planning and budget management.

Main Job Responsibilities:-

  • Receive daily supermarket orders
  • Ensure they have been inputted into the system correctly
  • Oversee all dispatch of packed product
  • Produce all tickets and load plans for dispatched fruit
  • Ensure all stores are set at right temperature
  • Manage all incoming / outgoing storage work
  • Ensure a very high level of cleanliness at all times
  • Manage the temperature of the dispatch area
  • Help plan weekly rotas of all staff to cater for the production needs / Dispatch needs
  • Liaise with QC team, Spot checks on packed & out graded product
  • Source correct raw material
  • Liaise with growers/ transport agents
  • Rotate stock & ensure all product out loaded from chiller
  • Instruct fork lift personnel and ensure stock stored and rotated correctly
  • Record stocks of processing fruit so it can be out loaded regularly
  • Promote high standards of hygiene
  • Ensure regular cleaning carried out
  • Ensure all breakages are dealt with properly, adhering to the relevant procedures
  • Ensure good practices adopted to provide safe and healthy workplace
  • Assist with implementing HACCP
  • All staff to be trained as required to carry out their duties
  • Yard to be a tidy and safe environment
  • Waste disposal managed
  • All machinery including fork lifts, roller & pallet trucks, overwrap machine etc to be maintained regularly.
  • Preventative action to be taken to avoid possible breakdowns
  • Machinery repaired as cost effectively and quickly as possible

  • Fresh Produce or Similar Industry Experience is desirable
  • You would have experience working in a similar role within a FMCG company
  • Ideally you would have a established background in a Fresh Produce or Food company within a Warehouse Management role
  • Strong Managerial experience is essential
  • Previous experience working with major multiple retailers and other food outlets
  • Proven communication skills are essential – It is important in this role to be able to develop strong relationships with other departments and customers.
  • Must have strong experience of working in a Warehouse
