Job Description

We have a great new opportunity for a Fresh Produce Sales and Procurement Manager to join a well known successful Fresh Produce company.

They are looking for a Trading professional to join their Wholesale Team and work with the Head of Wholesale as we look to develop and expand our existing offering in the Wholesale Markets and Fresh Prepared sectors. You will have an excellent understanding of how the wholesale markets work and will help to drive performance across the team, and existing external stakeholders, whilst also introducing new customers and suppliers.

You will be involved in helping to manage all aspects of the relationships we have developed with our existing wholesale customers, ensuring they receive the best possible service and helping us to maximise our sales opportunities. With your knowledge and understanding of how the wholesale markets work, together with your experience of dealing with fresh produce and your industry contacts, you will develop new customer and supplier opportunities to help grow and strengthen our wholesale business.

What we are looking for?

  • We are looking for somebody with a minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a wholesale trader and with a background of working with fresh produce, particularly fruit.
  • You will have developed strong supplier and customer relationships that you can bring with you to this role, together with evidence of a financially successful trading record.
  • You will be proficient in supply chain processes, with a good understanding of world geography and experience of managing logistical issues in terms of moving products globally.
  • Ability to speak a second language, particularly Spanish, would be a distinct advantage in this role.
  • You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, be accustomed to working to tight timescales and feel comfortable managing a number of different tasks simultaneously.
  • You’ll be IT literate, especially with MS Word and Excel and ideally have experience of using an ERP system, particularly Rubicon, although training will be provided.
  • You must be a confident communicator, with a strong outgoing personality and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, assisting with queries and resolving issues quickly and efficiently.
