Commercial Manager – Transport and Logistics

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established and respected international logistics group working in the Fresh Produce Business with their UK office in Kent.

They have asked us to find (for this new role) a Commercial Manager who fully understands Transport and Logistics. The core purpose is to optimise revenue, maintain and build strong relationships and with a strategic mind set, develop new opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with targeted clients.
Market trend analysis to identify new business opportunities – which may mean changing to delivering a different product base.
Attend trade conferences and events keeping close to industry partners, domestic and international.
Manage accounts, nurture client relationships, and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
From defining the strategy to delivering robust commercial solutions with your client base.
Negotiate new contracts, pricing and terms with key customer interfaces.
Support the business in developing and implementing commercial strategies for successfully winning bids and managing post contract activities.
Contribute to the development of supply chain strategies for winning bids and delivering projects.
Foster positive relationships with existing customer base to enhance loyalty and increase business
Delivering robust commercial solutions in all your negotiations.
Ability to communicate with client and key suppliers to promote the Company brand and manage expectations.
Skills and Experience
- Impressive track record of new business development and growing these opportunities within the Logistics and Transport sector.
- You would have experience in the Fresh Produce Industry
- Experience in Commercial road transport (Domestic, import and export)
- Great communicator and rapport builder.
- Excellent literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
- Proven track record in commercial management within the transportation or logistics sector.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with clients and industry contacts.
- Analytical mindset, adept at interpreting market data and deriving actionable insights.
