Head of Sales Support

Our client is a UK based Fresh Produce Importer, Ripener, Packer and Distributor dealing with major UK retailers and Non retail customers. They have grown in the last 20 years into a sophisticated, well respected, quality based operation . The company is now part of a larger group giving them the distinct advantage of an integrated supply chain.

Through succession planning they will now need a Head of Sales Support. The present incumbent has been in this position for the last 21 years and prior to this various commercial roles in the Fresh Produce Trade. This function is the heart of the business and requires the new Head of to have a level of dynamism, gravitas and an inquiring mind to ensure the team of 10 is operating at the very top of their game. This role is recognised as critical and pivotal and an invaluable contributor to the management executive.  A working knowledge of Prophet ERP would be very beneficial.

  • Programme Planning
  • Currency Requirements
  • Advance Payments
  • PO Set ups
  • Vessel Arrivals
  • Defra – PEACH
  • Customs Entry
  • Customs Duty
  • Brexit Documentation
  • Container movements – In-Bound

Responsibilities to Sales :

  • Container Movements – Direct to Customers
  • Daily Distribution
  • Stock reconciliation
  • Forward storage requirements
  • Invoice referencing
  • Price returns to suppliers
  • Account Sales
  • PO Policing
  • PO Profitisation
  • Insurance & Claims
  • Queries / Trouble shooting

Key Requirements

  • Senior Manager expert at leading by example and bringing the best out of Teams
  • Involved in FMCG or similar business sector / Role
  • Analytical and Inquisitive mind with a continuous Improvement attitude
  • A thorough understanding of financials; an accounting background would be advantageous
  • An excellent communicator at all levels
  • A thorough understanding of Supply Chains and cost / profit points
  • Excel skills to an intermediate-advanced level
  • A track record of ‘Best in Class’ office practice
