About the Company
Our client is a well-established UK and European importer with over 15 years of experience sourcing high-quality Egyptian fresh produce, including sweet potatoes, garlic, spring onions, and onions. They currently supply major UK retailers and continue to expand their presence within the UK fresh produce market.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking a motivated Junior Procurement & Sales Executive to support the commercial team while developing into a successful Fresh Produce Trader.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in the fresh produce sector who is looking to build a long-term career in procurement, sales, and international sourcing.

The Role
Working alongside an experienced commercial team, you will assist with both procurement and sales activities, helping to source fresh produce, build supplier relationships, and develop new business opportunities within the UK market.
This is a varied role that offers exposure to all aspects of fresh produce trading, making it an ideal opportunity for someone looking to learn, develop, and progress within the industry.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement
• Assist in sourcing fresh produce from existing and new suppliers.
• Build strong relationships with growers and suppliers across Europe and North Africa.
• Support supplier negotiations, pricing discussions, and seasonal planning.
• Monitor market trends, crop availability, and pricing.
• Assist with forecasting and procurement administration.

Sales & Business Development
• Support the development of new UK B2B customers.
• Identify opportunities within the wholesale, foodservice, processing, and distribution sectors.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular communication.
• Prepare quotations and support commercial negotiations.
• Maintain accurate sales records, reports, and forecasts.

About You
We are looking for someone who is ambitious, commercially minded, and eager to build a successful career within the fresh produce industry.

Ideally, you will have:
• 3-5 years of experience within the fresh produce or food industry.
• An interest in both procurement and sales.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Good commercial awareness and a willingness to learn.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• A proactive and positive attitude, with the ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of Spanish or experience with imported produce would be advantageous, but is not essential.
