National Account Manager

An industry leader in UK Tomato production is looking for a National Account Manager to maintain and nurture its expanding Retail business.

This is a customer-facing role dealing with four of the UK top Retailers; to drive and manage key customer relations and to deliver the commercial strategy.

Key areas of responsibility:

Understand and deliver the Sales strategy and Financial targets, including KPI areas of Customer Service, Cost control and Business Development.

Ensure Commercial Strategy and Financial targets are managed successfully with both internal stakeholders and customers.

Actively manage the Category and collaborate with the Team to achieve margins and growth.

Know your market and initiate innovations and strategy to keep the company ahead of competitors.

Develop excellent customer relationships ensuring long term stability and growth.

Contribute actively in maintaining a customer focussed business.

 

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

A track record of Sales and Business Development, ideally within Fresh Food or FMCG sector.

A minimum of 2 years Account management or Sales experience with a top UK Retailer.

A clear understanding of the Fresh Food sector (ideally Fresh Produce) and know what success looks like.

Commercially astute and can manage and develop relationships.

A strong understanding of retail industry dynamics, market trends, customer preferences and the competitor landscape.

Fluency in English; additional languages, such as Spanish would be an advantage.

Ability to interpret Market data into a plan.

Be the ‘go to’ person for the Category.
