Our client is a leading Fresh Produce company in Kent, their success is well known and it would be a great opportunity to join this energetic and ambitious team. They are looking for a Regional Quality Manager to join their QA / Technical team

Location: Remote Working, nationwide.

Key Performance Areas

To be part of the Technical Department team and provide support to our clients growers in both QA management and product quality compliance

Principal Accountabilities

  • Ensure compliance of fruit quality standards during the main UK production season to each customer’s specification through site visits including field and packhouse visits
  • Ensure customer specifications are being adhered to post production, via conducting retailer store visits and recording & reporting on-shelf quality
  • During the course of the year, support for the regional technical managers may be required, so other accountabilities could include: –
  • Ensure continued QA systems compliance during the main UK production season through regular inspection and audits
  • Assist the grower or the office in the event of product problems as appropriate
  • Assist the technical team in completion of reports as required both throughout the season
  •  Assist the technical team in completion of the Quality Management System during the winter
  •  Accompany retail customer personnel on grower / packhouse visits
  •  Liaise with the technical & sales team to provide accurate local information about crop stages and volumes
  • Assist with creating reports and summaries following the completion of a growers season
  • Participate in training courses for company growers and their staff during the off season
  • Carry out traceability exercises at packhouses
  • Other ad hoc duties as required.

Person Specification

  • Evidence of extensive experience working in a comparable role, preferably within the Fresh Produce / Fruit  industry
  • Strong appreciation of our business needs and resourcefulness in coming up with solutions to their challenges
  • Ability to relate to key client personnel in a professional and credible fashion
    4. Well-developed personal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate
    with a wide range of employees
    5. Good interpersonal skills and well developed leadership and management skills
    6. Creativity
    7. Ability to delegate effectively and to follow-up as appropriate
    8. Ability to work as part of a team with colleagues across professional, operational and cultural
    boundaries

    13. Good IT skills including experience of Word and Excel
