A leading Fresh Produce company based in Kent are looking for a Retail Data Analyst to join their team! We know this client well and it is a excellent company to work for! 

Key responsibilities:

Market Information

  • To manage and look after all of our data sources within all categories we supply
  • To mine data presented into a set format and report to the sales and procurement team on a regular basis
  • Develop value-adding reporting for our retail customers and presenting to them when required
  • Analyse and identify new areas of opportunity for the sales team to pursue
  • European and global reports to be aligned, simplified and delivered to stakeholders on an ad hoc basis for their benefit

Systems

  • Help to maintain and develop improved systems used within the business via the Domo BI Platform, MS Office-based reports and the Prophet ERP system
  • Bring new ideas to challenge and improve the current ways of working within the reporting and sales management processes – faster, more user-friendly, automated and efficient
  • Help to develop and govern the Domo BI platform for the wider business and as a complete user-friendly tool for Data Intelligence driving business decision making and performance
  • Responsibility to manage and maintain key tools and data providers – Domo, IRI, Kantar, iAuditor, customer loyalty portals
  • Manage and maintain the retail specific reporting suite
  • Pull together procurement and sales information under one structure to avoid duplication or work

Product / Process / Analysis

  • Work with various teams across our business to identify savings for the department allowing us to continue to remain competitive in the market
  • Financial, operational and product analysis opportunities
  • Waste, flow and volume efficiency, cost analysis across all areas of involvement
  • Cost implications of variances to models and budgets defined
  • Forecasting, weather and seasonal modelling of our products to be continued and improved
  • Retail reporting and weekly updating to be carried out – Actual volumes vs. programmes for example.
  • Understand the retail environment with particular attention to Service Provision models and customer reporting tools
  • Ad-hoc tasks and project work as required

Key Requirements

The ideal candidate must:

  • Demonstrate SQL knowledge and experience;
  • Demonstrate Microsoft Office skills to an expert level (Excel, Access, Flow);
  • Be numbers driven, ideally with a knowledge of statistics, finance and forecasting;
  • Have proven experience of programming languages (VBA essential, HTML, Python, R all a bonus);
  • Demonstrate an excellent understanding of data management, visualisation and governance principles;
  • Have excellent communication skills to proactively engage with the retail team to maximise the potential to drive market and product performance;
  • Be comfortable in presenting data to senior managers, stakeholders, customers and colleagues;
  • Have the capability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining focus and accuracy;
  • Be highly organised with a logical approach and striving for continuous improvement;
  • Offer the facility for flexibility when required;
  • Maintain a consistently high standard of personal presentation.
