Sales Manager – Fresh Produce


We are looking for a experienced fresh produce Sales Manager / Account Manager with 3-5 yrs in the sector and a strong understanding of the retail market, ideally with Tesco, Sainsbury, Aldi.

Our client are a internationally successful Fresh Produce company that are rapidly expanding company with current interests in the UK, Europe and Northern Africa, looking to extend customer base into South America, Asia and Eastern Europe. European language skills of distinct advantage, particularly Spanish.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To manage and develop the designated customer(s) account

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To manage the day-to-day running of the customers’ account
  • To manage and analyse all the customer’s commercial data, and drive any change necessary for the overall benefit from the conclusions drawn
  • To recognize the responsibility that the account manager has the greatest chance to influence how the customer perceives the company, and manages that responsibility effectively
  • To be the principle point of commercial contact for the customer and undertake the activities necessary
  • To ensure good communication of information pertinent to the customer, both internally and externally
  • Has the ability to identify marketing opportunities, manage marketing funds and engage with the Insight team where needed
  • To ensure we are continually ensuring that the needs and expectations of the customer are being managed
  • To work closely with the Commercial Director on price negotiations, and ensuring margin targets are being met

GENERAL

  • To ensure the department is complying within the legal and ethical parameters set in the UK and to protect the integrity of the brand
  • To ensure compliance with the responsibilities and duties that we have with packing customers own brands
  • Continually strive to seek cost saving initiatives in the supply chain, to ensure we’re future fit
  • To ensure good communication, both internally and externally, to ensure that all appropriate parties have sufficient knowledge to undertake their roles successfully
  • Will cover for sickness and holidays within the organisation

 

Please apply if you have the following experience :

  • Fresh Produce Industry knowledge
  • Excellent Sales experience in a Fresh Produce company
  • Proven Sales / Account Management experience with at least 1 of the major UK Retailers.
  • Experience in market data analysis & customer account management
  • Strong negotiator with great relationship building
  • Ability to manage difficult situations and positively influence outcome
  • Excellent communicator with adept IT
