Supply Planning Manager

A leading Fresh Produce company are looking for a Supply Planning Manager to join their team based in Kent.

Key Performance Areas: 

  • Supervise the creation of a supply forecasting across different horizons working primarily with Growers
  • Works closely with the Commercial Planning team to ensure the supply forecast is understood by providing in-depth analysis of grower forecasts
  • Providing a clear view of what potential shortage and surplus positions we have against the current sales forecast and drive mitigation plans to resolve issues
  • Highlighting risks and opportunities and developing mitigating actions together with Demand Planning, Commercial and Agronomy
  • Monitoring, reporting and challenging the integrity of supply information from Growers
  • Tracking the performance of Grower across the season
  • Managing supply reviews with Growers and following up on action plans to rectify poor performance
  •  Assisting with grower production planning and estimating system developments
  • Leading event planning across key seasonal events cross functionally
  •  Reporting and monitoring the fruit stock position across UK
  • Liaise closely with Agronomy and Growers to ensure issues affecting crops are captured in forecast plans
  •  Supervise recruitment, development, retention, and organisation of Supply Planning Team.
  • Prepare and chair bi-weekly planning meetings across 1 week and 6 weeks horizons
  • Improve supply forecast accuracy to within 15% variance week on week
  • Manage, train and mentor the Supply Planning Team
  • Owning and developing the Supply Planning process in the short, medium and long-term
  • Establish and continue developing supply planning processes supported by the IT system
  • Monitor and deliver functions’ performance against set goals and objectives. (i.e. fruit availability, forecast accuracy)
  • Advise and counsel growers, and agronomy on fruit availability against the sales forecast
  • Identify and lead improvement initiatives (systems, processes, people)

Person Specifications

  • Experience in Supply Planning, and fresh produce or FMCG
  •  Experience in managing, training, and mentoring a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal relations skills
  •  Highly developed influencing and collaboration and facilitation skills
  •  Excellent analytical skills and confidence to work with numbers
  •  Knowledge of ERP & forecasting system
