Our client are looking for a experienced Trading Account Manager to join their commercial team based in West Midlands, UK. 

 This role will report directly into the Head of Sales.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and deliver an effective UK/IRE & EU sales strategy that drives sales and maximises company profit
  • Develop relationships with import supply base in UK & Europe
  • Negotiate pricing with customers and suppliers to achieve the best result for the company, taking into consideration all factors when setting price levels.
  • Regular customer communication and attend meetings as required.
  • Mange trading offers end to end, sending daily availabilities to key retail customers.
  • Build an understanding of market conditions by daily communication with suppliers and customers, capitalise on market opportunities wherever possible.
  • Understand customers stock levels to minimise any overstocks and manage any issues accordingly with them.
  • Manage and minimise any customer claims due to quality issues on arrival.
  • Ensure adherence to company procedures
  • Liaise with the company departments on a regular basis as required
  • Attend in person or via Teams or similar any internal or external meetings
  • Resolve or highlight any payment issues with customers within the company procedure
  • Ensure all sales orders are entered onto prophet in a timely manner

Key Competencies

  • Strong experience within the FMCG chilled import industry, ideally in produce
  • Experience in a Sales or Commercial Role within the UK FMCG or Fresh Produce Industry.
  •  You would have an excellent track record in Sales and Procurement.
  • Experience working with leading customers in retail or foodservice.
  • Hardworking and honest outlook
  • Contribute and work effectively within a team
  • Confident and professional negotiator
  • Able to adhere to the values and mission of the company
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to manage change and comply with internal and external business processes
  • Competence in Microsoft Office products

The offer is made up of the following:

Base Salary: £60k per annum DOE. + Car Allowance ( £6,000 PA). + Bonus

They are looking for a Procurement and Sales Manager to join their Wholesale Trading team. You will have an excellent understanding of how the wholesale markets work and will help to drive performance across the team, and existing external stakeholders, whilst also introducing new customers and suppliers.

You will be involved in helping to manage all aspects of the relationships we have developed with our existing wholesale customers, ensuring they receive the best possible service and helping us to maximise our sales opportunities. With your knowledge and understanding of how the wholesale markets work, together with your experience of dealing with fresh produce and your industry contacts, you will develop new customer and supplier opportunities to help grow and strengthen our wholesale business.

We are looking for somebody with a minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a wholesale trader and with a background of working with fresh produce, particularly fruit.

You will have developed strong supplier and customer relationships that you can bring with you to this role, together with evidence of a financially successful trading record.

You will be proficient in supply chain processes, with a good understanding of world geography and experience of managing logistical issues in terms of moving products globally.

You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, be accustomed to working to tight timescales and feel comfortable managing a number of different tasks simultaneously.

You’ll be IT literate, especially with MS Word and Excel and ideally have experience of using an ERP system.

You must be a confident communicator, with a strong outgoing personality and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, assisting with queries and resolving issues quickly and efficiently.
