What an exciting opportunity …… We are looking for a experienced Fresh Produce Procurement professional to join a international Fresh Produce company as their Head of Procurement / Sourcing! This role is based in Poland and it is a brilliant chance to be a part of a major company in a senior Procurement position… You will be joining one of Poland’s most respected F&V businesses who enjoy a considerable industry advantage in that they are part of a very influential global group .

 It would be expected you have at least 5 years senior level experience within the Fresh Poland industry. Fluent in Polish and another European language you will be well acquainted with Poland’s Fresh Produce markets

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Develop new suppliers and regions to help fulfil the companies retail and non retail demands for F&V
A product specialist that can both procure and sell fruit to other regions
Liaison with overseas suppliers on volumes, prices, and agree supply programmes.
Monitoring supply from growers on a daily basis
Liaison with the F&V Technical,Quality, Sourcing and Sales  teams  on supply vs customer requirements
Oversee import transport logistics and potential exports and maintaining supply programmes
Ensure your team are handling the financial,quality, compliance and reporting procedures to suppliers efficiently.

We are looking for someone with the following experience:-

  • 5 years Procurement / Sourcing experience within the Fresh Produce Industry
  • Must be a manager (or similar) in your current role
  • University degree or equal through experience.
  • Essential that you have current knowledge of the Polish Fresh Produce retail and non retail market
  • Fluent in Polish.  knowledge of any other European language is an asset
  • You would have a proven track record in Sales and Global Sourcing (Fresh Produce)
  • Acting on your own initiative and the ability to influence senior management team and key stakeholders the value and logic of business proposals.
  • Resilience under pressure, adapting quickly to deliver commercial results
  • Willingness to travel across Poland and overseas where required
  • Experience working on company strategy
  • Excellent communication skills

Head of Sales (Poland F&V)

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the high performing Sales & Business development function for one of Poland’s most respected  fresh produce importers, packers and distributors. They enjoy a considerable industry advantage in that they are part of a very influential global group in this industry.

Reporting to the MD you will consolidate current business and drive new business growth within Poland and other markets. It would be expected you have at least 5 years senior level experience within the Fresh Poland industry. Fluent in Polish and another European language you will be well acquainted with Poland’s Fresh Produce markets

Responsibilities include :

  • Winning new clients, expand scope and penetration of sales into both Retail and Non-Retail customers.
  • Create and sustain a strong presence in both Polish and other markets.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues and Stakeholders on strategy and tactics, providing inputs and initiatives and have the confidence and gravitas to drive your ideas to fulfilment.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Defining target market and opportunities, creating strategies for traction and engagement.
  • Creating a strategy for engaging with credible opportunities and working them into the pipeline.
  • Be capable of making sales and marketing decisions at a senior level and ensure adoption at all levels.
  • Attend events and continue to build the brand.
  • High personal visibility both internally and with the customer base.
  • Demonstrate outstanding communication and relationship management skills.
  • Coach and Mentor the Sales team.
  • Deliver training across the sales team.
  • Attend key external and internal stakeholder meetings.

The role has first line responsibility and accountability for the profitability of the Sales business.  Through providing effective leadership and management, the commercial director will maximise current business whilst seeking to identify, secure and develop additional opportunities with current and new customers in the retail sector and outside.

Our client are looking for a Commercial Director who will be responsible for all trade part of the company. This will be involvement in sales, sourcing, export, operations (packaging area), transport.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  •  Be responsible and fully accountable for the P&L account with EU customers
  • Develop and manage existing & new retail and non -retail customer accounts by ensuring appropriate strategies and tactics are in place to meet company objectives
  •  Be responsible for managing a team of 20 people.
  • Develop a source & supplier strategy by ensuring the appropriate tactics are in place to meet company objectives
  • Provide clear and inspirational leadership to the Procurement, Sales, Export, Operations, transport and Technical team in Poland
  • Organise and delegate roles and activities so that the team functions in a controlled and coherent way
  •  Ensure all activities meet or exceed established safety, quality, customer service and cost standards
  •  Gathering and communicate market data and trends, good knowledge of the Polish Fresh Produce Market
  • Manage a procurement, sales and technical team to maximize staff performance
  • Contribute to wider company issue discussions with the Senior Management team
  • Support the development of an office culture that fits company values and aspirations
  • Actively pursue cost savings
  • The Commercial Director will be a person responsible for strategy for the company but also “daily business”

QUALIFICATIONS , EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Role

  • Developing the European market and taking ownership of the products within your categories in terms of ranging, availability, quality, cost prices and margin, promotions.
  • Managing the customer base (retail/horeca/fresh cut) on a day to day and long term basis, as the relationship with the customer is key to bringing value into the chain and securing future business.
  • Continuously working with suppliers/growers and supply chain organisations.
  • Taking responsibility for following and optimising the chain in order to avoid unnecessary costs and reduce risks.

Profile  

A highly skilled sales person with a business development mind.

  • Ideally, Bachelor level in commerce or agriculture.
  • Initial experience as a Manager on a fresh produce “unit” on the growing, operational or commercial elements
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Fresh Produce sector with a good network and customer base.
  • Proficient and proven commercial skills.
  • Language skills English is a must. Spanish or German is an advantage.
  • Good social and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to analyse your sales achievements.

Our client is an International Fresh Produce Trading company with bases in several locations in UK and Europe.Through recent expansion and growth the UK Business they are now looking for a Commercial Manager / Trader to be based in Spain, buying and selling to customers in the UK market (mainly non-retail).

You would be part of this Unit and work closely to achieve the objectives, strategy and day to day tactics.

You would be responsible for the UK companies interests in Spain with their current suppliers, with regular customer and supplier/grower visits.
