They are looking for someone who knows their Salad and / or Veg !

This role is mainly for sales and procurement for the Non-Retail market in the UK. If your customer base is more extended or indeed more niche, not a problem. The plan is to enable your current and future Supply and Customer base plenty of room to breathe, cash flow is not an issue your credit control will always be part of the picture.

You will be the heart and soul of this category, there are no limits on which way you want to take it and full support is part of the package.

Expectations about you :

  • A minimum of two years relevant experience.
  • A combination of sales and buying background in Salad and or Vegetable categories.
  • The ability to develop additional Customers and Suppliers
  • Working knowledge of the Non-Retail sector (Wholesalers, Category Managers, Food Service, Food processors, Box Companies etc etc)
  • Written and spoken fluency in English (other EU languages advantageous)

  • A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability to prioritise work loads and work in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High standard of numeracy
  • Excellent PC skills and proficiency in MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel is desirable.
  • Other language skills would be beneficial
  • You would be outgoing with the ability to get on with people from supplier to customer  level – Overall we would expect you to have a natural ability to build relationships
  • Reliable and flexible attitude

A major UK grower and Cooperative group Leader for Salads and Vegetables, and Fruit importer, is looking for a person to join their sales team.

This is unique opportunity to 'learn on the job'.

What we expect is a lively and enquiring personality, a grip of commercial objectives, a good people person, so communication skills are right up there ! Finally, an interest in developing a Sales (and possibly Procurement) career in the Fresh Produce industry.

This is a rare opportunity to enter an exciting and fast -paced industry with enough mentoring and support to ensure you excel!

Your day to day from the start will be learning about the variety of products, how they are grown, packed and sold. This may be Veg and Salads from their own UK farms to Citrus, Grape, Peach, Nectarine, Cherries from around the world. You will be given customer responsibility as soon as you feel ready.

Please apply if you have the following experience / knowledge:

  • You must have some Sales experience , ideally trading or direct sales.
  • Ideally you would have some experience in the Fresh Produce / Food or Fruit Industry , but this is not essential . If you are from the Fresh Produce Industry, a higher salary would be offered to reflect your experience.
  • You would be a confident sales person and happy to 'pick up the phone' and keen to learn
  • Must have excellent English language skills - spoken and written.
