What an exciting opportunity …… We are looking for a experienced Fresh Produce Procurement professional to join a international Fresh Produce company as their Head of Procurement / Sourcing! This role is based in Poland and it is a brilliant chance to be a part of a major company in a senior Procurement position… You will be joining one of Poland’s most respected F&V businesses who enjoy a considerable industry advantage in that they are part of a very influential global group .

 It would be expected you have at least 5 years senior level experience within the Fresh Poland industry. Fluent in Polish and another European language you will be well acquainted with Poland’s Fresh Produce markets

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Develop new suppliers and regions to help fulfil the companies retail and non retail demands for F&V
A product specialist that can both procure and sell fruit to other regions
Liaison with overseas suppliers on volumes, prices, and agree supply programmes.
Monitoring supply from growers on a daily basis
Liaison with the F&V Technical,Quality, Sourcing and Sales  teams  on supply vs customer requirements
Oversee import transport logistics and potential exports and maintaining supply programmes
Ensure your team are handling the financial,quality, compliance and reporting procedures to suppliers efficiently.

We are looking for someone with the following experience:-

  • 5 years Procurement / Sourcing experience within the Fresh Produce Industry
  • Must be a manager (or similar) in your current role
  • University degree or equal through experience.
  • Essential that you have current knowledge of the Polish Fresh Produce retail and non retail market
  • Fluent in Polish.  knowledge of any other European language is an asset
  • You would have a proven track record in Sales and Global Sourcing (Fresh Produce)
  • Acting on your own initiative and the ability to influence senior management team and key stakeholders the value and logic of business proposals.
  • Resilience under pressure, adapting quickly to deliver commercial results
  • Willingness to travel across Poland and overseas where required
  • Experience working on company strategy
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Result orientated
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop solid business partnerships

Procurement Manager

A leading Fresh Produce company in Kent are looking for a Procurement Manager! The successful Procurement Manager would have a background in the Fresh Produce or similar Industry and would be able to speak Spanish (and English).

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Liaison with overseas suppliers on volumes, market prices, and agreeing weekly programmes
  • Developing competitive and sustainable programmes with leading international suppliers to help to grow the business
  • To have a comprehensive understanding of the global market, to identify trends and capitalise on opportunities
  • Monitoring supply from growers on a daily basis
  • Strong working relationship with the sales team on and close collaboration supply vs customer requirements
  • Managing and reviewing transport logistics for overseas sources
  • Running weekly accounting, preparing any claims and managing P/L of overseas supplier accounts alongside Procurement Administration
  • Liaison with accounts on invoices and claims

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Liaison with suppliers on short term availability, daily loadings, and making sure departure advices are received
  • Weekly liaison with suppliers on prices and agreeing programmes
  • Preparing weekly supplier programmes tailored to customer demand
  • Managing logistics and load plans ex source for all countries, daily liaison with hauliers for all source countries where required
  • Daily liaison with sales team and QC team on customer requirements in terms of volumes, quality and varieties
  • Monitoring quality reports, stock rotation and Wares packing charges
  • Monitoring programme vs actual on deliveries to highlight any shortages/over supply
  • Preparation of supplier returns/invoicing incorporating any necessary claims, and monitoring P/L of overseas supplier accounts
  • Other ad hoc duties as required

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Must currently be in a Procurement / Purchasing / Sourcing role
  • Fresh Produce Procurement experience is essential
  • Evidence of relevant/useful experience working in a comparable role, preferably within the soft fruit industry
  • Be able to communicate in Spanish to a level that enables you to work with non-English speaking suppliers
  • Strong appreciation of our business needs and resourcefulness in coming up with solutions to their challenges
  • Ability to relate to key client personnel in a professional and credible fashion
  • Strong personal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with a wide range of employees
  • Good interpersonal skills and well developed leadership and management skills
  • Energy, enthusiasm and creativity
  • Ability to delegate effectively and to follow-up as appropriate
  • Ability to work as part of a team with colleagues across professional, operational and cultural boundaries
  • Proactive approach and prompt responses to all service requests
  • Ability to identify needs and issues and recommend suitable and pragmatic courses of action and solutions, adopting a risk aware approach
  • Good time management and organisational skills with the ability to handle a number of tasks at once and meeting deadlines as required
