Account Manager - FMCG (Chilled Products) Company Overview This company is a global leader with an enviable integrated supply base, specialising in providing chilled fresh products to retail clients across the UK, Ireland, and the EU. Position: Account Manager Sector: FMCG (Chilled Fresh Products) Location: South Staffordshire Reports to: Sales Director Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for key retail customers in the UK, Ireland, and the EU, ensuring strong, positive relationships.
  • Account Growth: Identify and develop new business opportunities within existing accounts to drive growth, profitability, and market share in the FMCG Fresh products category.
  • Retailer Collaboration: Work closely with retail partners to understand their needs, align on product offerings, and deliver on shared goals. You will collaborate with both UK and EU-based retail clients, ensuring seamless service and product delivery.
  • Sales Strategy Execution: Implement and manage account-specific sales plans, ensuring alignment with overall business strategies and achieving sales targets.
  • Product Knowledge: Stay updated on trends and developments in the Fresh produce categories, particularly Citrus and Grape, to provide retailers with insights and recommendations.
  • Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with internal teams including Supply Chain, Operations, and Marketing to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of products to retail clients.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Regularly analyse account performance, sales data, and market trends, providing insights and recommendations for improvement. Prepare regular reports on account progress for senior management.
Key Requirements:
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in account management, sales, CRM or business development within the FMCG industry, ideally focusing on fresh produce.
  • Retail Expertise: Proven track record of working with major retail customers across the UK and EU markets is highly desirable.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse market trends, sales data, and customer feedback to shape and refine account strategies.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing customer issues or concerns.
  • Industry Knowledge: A good understanding of the FMCG retail landscape in the UK, Ireland and EU, with experience in working within the chilled products sector.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel across the UK, Ireland, and EU as required to meet with clients and partners.
Preferred:
  • Languages: Fluency in English is required; additional language skills in another European language would be an advantage.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Procurement Manager About the Company This is a well-established Importer, integrated grower and distributer to UK Retail with Global representation, particular emphasis on their main growing area; South Africa. Their main Sites in the UK are in Shropshire (Prep Fruit) and Lincolnshire. There are other 3pl sites used. They have a comprehensive supply base already in place with advanced strategic procurement plans for the next five years. Role responsibilities This a new position created as a response to continued growth in all the categories. The main purpose for the job is to manage the grape and citrus category for the company. This will involve maintaining all Supplier relations on a Global level, excluding South Africa. There will be additional responsibilities on purchasing Melon, Pineapple and Apples for the onsite prepared fruit section. *To manage and develop the Grape and Citrus categories alongside key suppliers from India, Egypt, Greece, Morocco and Turkey. Trading channels with these countries have already been established. *’Own the category’ from concept to customer delivery. *Manage returns and profitability of each source. *Engage the most cost-effective methods for delivery of the products. *Manage procurement for the company prepared fruit department (Melon, Pineapple & Apple). * Monitor stocks, production and specifications for prepared fruit. *During the season offer support with South African Grape and Citrus procurement. * Be responsible for your areas Budget (weekly), Supplier assessment (annually). *Manage all quality control issues, including supplier claims and ongoing quality. *Attention to the detail and accuracy of supply and demand planning. *Lead and influence others on a Customer First culture. *Champion and communicate all company initiatives with internal and external stakeholders.
