Summary of role:

Generate, negotiate, and coordinate international sales for the company. Source required products for the company locally and internationally. Enhance and maintain customer needs and relations.

Duties:

  • Sourcing local and international products for export, managing and enhancing business relationships with these growers.
  • Selling of products to local and international markets, managing and enhancing business relationships with these customers.
  • Managing and achieving sales targets.
  • Fruit varieties to be sold include and are not limited to – Pome, Citrus, Grapes, Exotics.

Qualifications / experience:

  • Relevant Bachelors degree.
  • 3-year experience in the fruit exports industry.
  • Fluent in reading and writing English.
  • Knowledge of shipping models and logistics.
  • Well developed in planning and organising.
  • Well developed in negotiating between suppliers and customers.
  • Sound knowledge of market prices and trends.

Other valuable attributes:

  • Able to speak multiple languages.
  • Time management and self-driven – head office is based in South Africa whilst the candidate may not be based in South Africa.
  • Well presentable.
  • Honestly, integrity and good business ethics.

Head of Sales (Poland F&V)

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the high performing Sales & Business development function for one of Poland’s most respected  fresh produce importers, packers and distributors. They enjoy a considerable industry advantage in that they are part of a very influential global group in this industry.

Reporting to the MD you will consolidate current business and drive new business growth within Poland and other markets. It would be expected you have at least 5 years senior level experience within the Fresh Poland industry. Fluent in Polish and another European language you will be well acquainted with Poland’s Fresh Produce markets

Responsibilities include :

  • Winning new clients, expand scope and penetration of sales into both Retail and Non-Retail customers.
  • Create and sustain a strong presence in both Polish and other markets.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues and Stakeholders on strategy and tactics, providing inputs and initiatives and have the confidence and gravitas to drive your ideas to fulfilment.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Defining target market and opportunities, creating strategies for traction and engagement.
  • Creating a strategy for engaging with credible opportunities and working them into the pipeline.
  • Be capable of making sales and marketing decisions at a senior level and ensure adoption at all levels.
  • Attend events and continue to build the brand.
  • High personal visibility both internally and with the customer base.
  • Demonstrate outstanding communication and relationship management skills.
  • Coach and Mentor the Sales team.
  • Deliver training across the sales team.
  • Attend key external and internal stakeholder meetings.

We are looking for someone with the following experience:-

  • 5 years sales experience within the Fresh Produce Industry
  • Must be a manager (or similar) in your current role
  • University degree or equal through experience.
  • Essential that you have current knowledge of the Polish Fresh Produce retail market
  • Fluent in Polish.  knowledge of any other European language is an asset
  • You would have a proven track record in Sales and Sourcing (Fresh Produce)
  •  Having a solid network within the Fresh Produce Industry  and a proven experience on key account management with major retail customers in EU.
  • Examples of negotiation and delivery of cost savings combined with a strong and logical commercial problem solving abilities.
  • Acting on your own initiative and the ability to influence senior management team and key stakeholders the value and logic of business proposals.

Sales Manager (F&V)

Our client are a major international Fresh Produce Group, they have offices located throughout Europe and now have a strong presence in the UK. They have a strong network across Europe and overseas and due to continued success they would like to grow their customer base in the UK …. Therefore they are looking for a skilled and energetic Sales professional with at least 2 years in Fresh Produce Sales or Trading role to continue their success in the UK.

Our client is an established business who have steadily grown to become a leading name in the fresh produce industry, they have a tremendous amount of knowledge within the business and are considered experts in the fresh produce sector.You will be responsible for developing and maintaining existing client relationships within the Sales & Marketing department, whilst identifying and targeting new business opportunities particularly in the non-retail sector.

To be successful in this role you will need to be a high calibre sales professional, ideally with a portfolio of customers in Wholesale Markets, Food Service, Processors, Category Managers (This is ideal, not essential). It is unlikely that you would have less than two years experience within the Fresh Produce industry and used to growing business within healthy and stable relationships. A combination of a proactive trading mentality and a strategic thinker would be essential.

You will have an eye for opportunities and jump on any chances to help grow sales and the business. You will be able to utilise your experience and relationships to help drive the business forward and help grow the top and bottom lines for the business.

The ideal candidate will have fresh produce trading experience. You will have a proven track record of delivering sales and new business in the wholesale, catering and processor markets. You will be a team player and have a good ‘can-do’ attitude

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

• Managing customer accounts and generating sales. Focus on understanding customer needs and building long term relationships.
• Visiting customers and supporting New Business Development activity
• Learning about customer businesses, negotiating prices, and ensuring the delivery of first class customer service.
• Manage pricing and margins according to internal targets.
• Maintain and develop existing and new customers through ethical sales methods.
• Optimize quality of service, business growth, and customer satisfaction.
• Meet company targets for retention of growth and profitability.

To be considered for this role, we are looking for someone with the following experience / knowledge

  • Strong negotiation skills, excellent telephone manner, sales skills must be demonstrated throughout your past career.
  • Sales / Trading experience in the Fresh Produce Industry – At least 2 years
  • Some Procurement or Buying experience would be interesting to our client… But this experience is not essential.
  • Experience working with Non retail / wholesale customers from the Fresh Produce Trade.
  • Ability to work independently and you would be a ‘self starter’. Although guidance and training will be provided if needed….

 

Salary range is £25,000 + for a Junior Sales with at least 1-2 years experience

Salary is open for a more Senior Sales candidates  (£35,000 – £50,000 +). We would expect you to have at least 4 years in the Industry, ideally with some contacts in the Non retail sector within Fresh Produce / Fresh food.

Role

Our client is an International Fresh Produce Trading company with bases in several locations in UK and Europe.Through recent expansion and growth the UK Business they are now looking for a Commercial Manager / Trader to be based in Spain, buying and selling to customers in the UK market (mainly non-retail).

You would be part of this Unit and work closely to achieve the objectives, strategy and day to day tactics.

You would be responsible for the UK companies interests in Spain with their current suppliers, with regular customer and supplier/grower visits.
