They are large scale growers, packers and distributors of Italian fresh salad products, well-respected for delivering quality with the top varieties in mainly conventional but with a significant organic offer. Alongside the major growing operations in Italy (and USA) they have a sales and marketing office in the UK (South East) to take care of EU and the substantial UK business.

 

The UK marketing arm already has an established business in Retail and non-retail and now is able to develop the FOOD SERVICE sector. To this end they are looking for a experienced sales professional who is currently selling fresh product to their Food Service customers (and others) to join and develop this sector.

We are looking for a candidate who has the following experience / knowledge: –
•    At least 2 years in Fresh Produce sales experience, ideally Salads
•    Fresh Produce experience must be current
•    New Business Development experience in the Foodservice sector is advantageous
•    Experience selling into the Food service Sector – contacts within the UK Foodservice industry would be highly advantageous
•    You would be sales focused and your experience would reflect this
•    Strong interpersonal skills
•    Excellent IT Skills
•    Excellent communication skills – written, on the phone and in person

Fresh Produce experience is desirable but not essential

The role:-

  • Maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers
  • Visiting potential customers for new business
  • Making accurate, rapid cost calculations
  • Providing customers with quotations
  • Negotiating the terms of an agreement and closing sales
  • Gathering market and customer information
  • Liaising with suppliers to check on the progress of existing orders
  • Recording sales and order information and sending copies to the sales office

Experience and knowledge needed :-

  • Strong Sales experience – The ability and desire to sell must be apparent
  • Ideally new business development experience – that is demonstrated in your CV
  • Fresh Produce / Food service experience is ideal , but not essential

Our client is a Fresh Produce grower owned business who offer a direct low cost supply to EU and UK Retailers. They source Stone Fruit, Grape and Cherries, Citrus and Berries with both Northern and Southern hemisphere suppliers.

They are looking to develop existing and new business with the appointment of a Trading Manager, Sales and Procurement of product utilising negotiation and communication skills with growers and clients alike.

This is a opportunity for a person currently in a position in Sales or similar or even looking to change directions ( e.g. Quality Control or Product Manager ) looking for their next career step.

You will be a fast learner, enthusiastic with a healthy product knowledge, excellent communication skills and an insatiable drive to succeed.

The Role

As a successful Trading / Sales Manager, you would be motivated to cold call and bring in new customers and business as well as proactively sell and grow their existing accounts.
As a trader you will be marketing the company’s own fresh produce to markets around the country and also utilise your experience to introduce other products as opportunities arise.
Building strong relationships with the markets and developing new contacts where possible.
Working with international sources, ensuring good value and good quality produce is always sent.

Guidance in the role and Training will be provided if / when needed.

Fresh Produce Sales Manager ( UK Supermarkets)

A successful Fresh Produce Grower are looking for Sales professionals to join their UK team. Due to recent growth and success, they are looking to expand their supply and customer base.

As part of this continued expansion and success, they are looking for ambitious and talented sales people to sell fresh produce into UK retailers with the full back up of the company’s comprehensive current supply chain.

Therefore, they have asked FMK Consulting to recruit for them two experienced fresh produce Sales Manager with a strong understanding of the UK retail market and / or European retail market.

For this role as UK Sales Manager, they are looking for someone who has a background in new business development and sales management in the UK…. They are looking for someone to bring in and develop and major UK Retail account.

The Sales Manager will need to have several years’ experience in selling to UK fresh produce customers – It is ideal that you would have existing customers and the ability to develop more. You would be joining a small but dynamic team currently enjoying tremendous growth and as such a busy office where a ‘team player’ is essential.

Your track record of sales (in whatever fresh produce category) would be excellent together with your account management and communication skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To bring in new business and develop any business with UK Retailers.
  • To manage the day-to-day running of the customers’ account
  • To manage and analyse all the customer’s commercial data, and drive any change necessary for the overall benefit from the conclusions drawn
  • To recognize the responsibility that the account manager has the greatest chance to influence how the customer perceives the company, and manages that responsibility effectively
  • To be the principle point of commercial contact for the customer and undertake the activities necessary
  • To ensure good communication of information pertinent to the customer, both internally and externally
  • Has the ability to identify marketing opportunities, manage marketing funds and engage with the Insight team where needed
  • To ensure we are continually ensuring that the needs and expectations of the customer are being managed
  • To work closely with the MD on price negotiations, and ensuring margin targets are being met

FMK Consulting are looking for a Trading / Sales Manager with a background in the Fresh Produce Industry. They are a internationally successful Produce trading company that are keen to expand their existing trading and sales team with a confident, ambitious and talented Sales Manager’s / Commercial Managers/ Procurement professionals and so on…

Working closely with suppliers around the world, our client supplies UK businesses with imported fresh produce, you’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining existing client relationships within the Sales & Marketing department, whilst identifying and targeting new business opportunities particularly in the non-retail sector.

To be successful in this role you will need to be a high calibre sales / commercial or trading professional, with a portfolio of customers in Wholesale Markets, Food Service, Processors, Category Managers. It is unlikely that you would have less than two years experience within the Fresh Produce industry and used to growing business within healthy and stable relationships. A combination of a proactive trading mentality and a strategic thinker would be essential.
