This is a new role within a Agronomy Team in order to manage Scotland. Our client are a well known and well respected Fresh Produce company… They are continuously growing and it would be a great career move to join their Agronomy team as a Senior Regional Agronomist.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

To promote and facilitate agronomic best practice, planning and metrics in order that our client’s members may become the most technically competent, profitable and aware in the UK industry, and specifically to:

  •  Promote and facilitate the aims of the Advisory Service
  •  Manage Agronomic Services across the region and ensure professional integrity of the regional team and quality of delivered advice.
  • Ensure that where defined by the Agronomy Manger standard operating procedures are implemented and maintained.
  • Support Regional Agronomists in any areas where ‘trouble shooting’ is necessary
  • Demonstrate knowledge and familiarity with all crops produced by the company
  • Provide an effective liaison between Technical, Sales Teams and Growers
  • Undertake regular visits to members’ farms to a schedule agreed with each individual member prior to the commencement of each season. To discuss, plan and facilitate;

  • Identify and assist with the adoption of new techniques, varieties and technologies through attendance of conferences and networking with technical personnel, researchers and partners (especially DEMEA agronomy and research teams)

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Production of ‘Best Management Practice’ documentation
  • Contribute fortnightly technical notes for inclusion in a regular in house bulletin, covering the most relevant current cultural topics for crops, highlighting particular areas of attention in that relevant period
  • To devise, plan organise and facilitate training events, meetings, farm walks and any other such events held to support and expand members (and their staff’s) knowledge and understanding
  • Support and advise the introduction of beneficial new varieties.  Assisting in selecting most suitable varieties for the site, soil and production systems, and to ensure that the best agronomic practices for each of the new varieties are being acted upon and implemented
  • Attend and participate in Benchmarking programmes and demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of financial performance
  • Provide information and crop production related material for circulation to members via the Extranet website.
  • Participate in annual Technical and Agronomy conferences where required or relevant to communicate specific information

To deliver a fast, efficient and effective supply chain process to supermarkets/suppliers

Dimensions:

  • To liaise with factory, suppliers, stock & intake qc team, and other relevant teams, in the provision, analysis and exchange of data and information required to support and maintain an effective and efficient supply chain process.

Key Accountabilities:

Process Supermarket Orders

Receive and review Supermarket orders and communicate order requirements to the pack houses.

  • Receive supermarket orders via EDI.
  • Review received orders, ensure all details correct.
  • Ensure enough fruit in the pack house to fulfil orders.
  • Confirm stock despatch requirements with, and release the order to the packhouse.
  • Monitor shortage report daily, logging on system and querying with supermarket where required.
  • Customer rejection, logged on system and shortage report
  • Customer forecasting daily & weekly, updating sales forecast & factory planning team

Stock Management

Monitor and compare packhouse stock levels with customer orders

Administration

Job Purpose:

To ensure that all aspects of the supply chain are coordinated efficiently and accurately, playing a key role with the overall coordination of order output on time and in full.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Control of stock including control of supply chain, stock management and logistics.

  • Evaluate growers on regular basis and based on evaluation results continue or stop with a grower.
  •   In case of quality problems upon arrival makes sure that all required information is correctly passed to growers and they understand nature of problem, follow up the issue and close it as soon as possible
  • Developing the wholesale and retail customers and taking ownership of the organic products within your categories in terms of ranging, availability, quality, cost prices, margin and promotions.
  •  Sourcing and purchasing high quality produce from well known growers
  • Prepares a season summary before the season is starting, explaining how the coming season looks alike production and quality wise, expected volumes, prevision of sizes, starting week, ending week etc
  • Prepares a season summary end of season explaining how the season in reality went
  • Preparing buying analysis on weekly basis, focusing on if all articles are sold to all clients and based on analysis come up with ideas where and what can be improved to increase sales
  •   Strengthening our knowledge regarding different varieties within the category
  • Managing the customer base (wholesale/retail/fresh cut) on a day- to- day and long-term basis, as the relationship with the customer is key to bringing value into the chain and securing future business.
  • Continuously working with suppliers/growers and supply chain organisations.
  • Taking responsibility for following and optimising the chain in order to avoid unnecessary costs and reduce risks.
  • Achieving agreed sales targets.
  • Reporting of sales data analysis.
  • Development of new products and new innovative packaging and launching them with new and existing customers.

 

Please apply if you have the following experience:

  • Ideally, the successful candidates would have a minimum 3 years + of Experience in Fruit / vegetable sector
  • Bachelor level in commerce or agriculture.
  • Proficient and proven commercial skills such as selling and buying in the Industry
  • Language skills English is a must. You would speak minimum English, which is their spoken language in the office. However, Spanish would be naturally very helpful at the moment of living in Spain.
  • Language skills- Spanish or German is an advantage.
  • Good social and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and in a team.

General Description
Safe, efficient and accurate running of the machines, keeping down time to a minimum

 

• set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
• Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed) for maximum efficiency
• Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
• Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
• Test operation of machines periodically
• Fix issues that might occur during the shift
• check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
• Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
• Activity logs regarding break down & machine output
• Adherence to all company policies and procedures, at all times
• Undertake any other tasks as reasonably requested by the production manager

Line Leader

Reporting to: Head of Production
*Oversee the running of the production line and the production team.
*Lead motivate and develop the production team, to ensure planned output requirements/quality standards are met
*Ensure all health and safety guidelines are followed.
*Review team performance regularly to identify areas for improvement, and encourage and support individual team members
*Work alongside the Head of Production to ensure that targets e.g. for line efficiency’s, quality and wastage are met.
*Ensure all site Quality, Housekeeping & Hygiene standards are achieved or exceeded.
*Ensure regular communication/briefing to provide the production team with the relevant information to carry out their role to the maximum effect.
*Contribute to the planning, organisation, operation and installation of all new processes and equipment within the factory
*Help to maintain a clean and safe work place
*Investigate and report all incidents
*Manufacture and pack products on the production line as necessary
