As Logistics Coordinator you’ll report directly to the Land Transport and Distribution Manager and in this role, you’ll support him being responsible for the management of the assigned transportation lanes, providing an excellent and efficient service and performance. This contains the organization, coordination and follow-up of the required transport lanes, the management of the necessary documentation as well as centralizing the communication between clients, suppliers and other internal departments.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Organize and coordinate all transport and logistics requests for the delivery of her/ his transportation lanes and customers
  • Plan, track and follow up the deliveries according to the customer requirements in the most cost-effective and efficient way
  • Be the main contact person for the sales department regarding the assigned deliveries, as well as managing corresponding transport costing requests
  • Coordinate unload schedules with our DC´s and safeguard as well as organize third party warehouse distributions and crossdocking operations
  • Ensure an effective and timely correct verbal and written communication between the different departments and our logistics department on the arranged transport
  • Resolve and manage courteously and efficiently queries and complaints with other departments, customers and providers
  • Regularly liaising with the commercial and product areas to ensure a smooth running between the areas
  • Ensure carrier and product transport compliance with the company policies and quality procedures

Candidate profile:

  • Higher Studies in Business or Transport/Logistics Management
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar position in an international environment, preferably with perishables products
  • Fluency, written and verbal, in Spanish, English and German

Dimensions:

Key Accountabilities:

Stock Management

Monitor and compare stock levels with customer orders

  • Review daily raw material stock levels via stock sheet.
  • Maintain acceptable stock level for all lines, against programmed orders, ordering top up stock on a daily basis.
  • Advise factory of what stock to use for specific lines/customer.
  • Complete stock reconciliation of stock level with stock on system, investigating and correcting any discrepancies.
  • Programmes with suppliers
  • Raw material rejections & replacement of stock to ensure customer orders are met.

Production Orders

Allocation of stock to confirmed orders on system ensuring correct rates are paid to factory for production.

  • Receive production data from factory, check, correct if necessary, query any anomalies.

Consignment Details

Verify accuracy of data on all consignments.

  • Receive and check the details supplied on all consignments created on the system
  • Create consignments for products procured by the company

  • Send QC reports to supplier
  • Set up varietal codes, sizes, grower/supplier details for QC.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To promote agronomic best practice in order that the company’s grower members may become the most technically competent, profitable and aware in the UK industry, and specifically to:
  • Understand and appreciate the aims of the Advisory Service.
  • Undertake regular visits to members’ farms to a schedule agreed with each individual member and Senior Regional Agronomist prior to the commencement of each season, to include;
  • Pest and disease monitoring reported by ICMS Sheet following each visit
  • Control recommendations provided through the Muddy Boots GLGM platform, including use and distribution of ‘beneficial species’
  • Crop notes and photos to be communicated to the grower highlighting specific issues
  • Incorporation and interpretation of trapping data provided by the pest monitoring team
  • Organise and participate in taking of soil or substrate, plant, leaf or sap samples, including ‘Plant Health’ testing.
  • Planning and prescription of Integrated Pest Management Strategies
  • Basic Crop husbandry and hygiene recommendations, in accordance with Senior Regional Agronomists direction
  • Irrigation strategy recommendations
  • Analysis of growing media and ‘fertigation’ management recommendations

  • Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience in a FMCG / Food or Produce company
  • At least 1 year working with Fresh Produce in a QA / QC position
  • Educated to GCSE level A,B or C (or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • Excellent IT Skills, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel
  • Previous experience working in a Packhouse / Factory environment (This is ideal, not essential)
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate

A successful Fresh Produce Grower are looking for Sales professionals to join their UK team. Due to recent growth and success, they are looking to expand their supply and customer base.

As part of this continued expansion and success, they are looking for ambitious and talented sales people to sell fresh produce into UK retailers with the full back up of the company’s comprehensive current supply chain.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To bring in new business and develop any business with UK Retailers.
  • To manage the day-to-day running of the customers’ account
  • To manage and analyse all the customer’s commercial data, and drive any change necessary for the overall benefit from the conclusions drawn
  • To recognize the responsibility that the account manager has the greatest chance to influence how the customer perceives the company, and manages that responsibility effectively
  • To be the principle point of commercial contact for the customer and undertake the activities necessary
  • To ensure good communication of information pertinent to the customer, both internally and externally
  • Has the ability to identify marketing opportunities, manage marketing funds and engage with the Insight team where needed
  • To ensure we are continually ensuring that the needs and expectations of the customer are being managed
  • To work closely with the MD on price negotiations, and ensuring margin targets are being met

A highly successful international Fresh produce company based in South Africa are keen to develop their Commercial and Sales team with a ambitious and talented Commercial Manager.

The Commercial Manager will be involved in the company’s Marking programmer and you would be managing export and local teams – Account Managers, etc. The Commercial Manager would have strong involvement in managing the pricing strategy, and communication of pricing with all customers (abroad and local), communication with growers and ensure that the software platform grows with the business and supports an efficient flow of information between packhouses, ports, and the market.  The Commercial Manager will manage existing customers as well as develop new business and develop and excellent customer relationships.

The Commercial Manager will have the following skills and experience:-

  • + Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Manager within the Fruit Export Environment
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel, i.e. able to do Pivot tables, V-lookup, etc.
  • Knowledge of the fresh fruit production/marketing industry
  • Knowledge of the Middle and Far Eastern markets customer base would be advantageous
  • Fruit software platforms such as Palbroker / QX working within an ERP system

You will manage fresh produce production, labour management, H&S and Food Safety Standards with a focus on waste and costs.

Growing Manager

Job Purpose:-

 To be responsible for growing a high yielding crop that meet the needs of retail supermarket  customer specifications including quality assurance, crop husbandry, achieving production targets  & goals in areas designated by Head of Growing. Managing and Monitoring the cycle  from plant delivery to harvest.

 

Main Responsibilities:-

  • Quality of plants – Ensure that all purchased plants meet our clients quality specification. Report any problems to the Head of Growing immediately.
  • Pre-planting & Planting – Ensure that tunnels and troughs are prepared in accordance with operational procedure as directed by the Head of Growing, including stock control of relevant materials. Oversea the planting operations and quality of all commercial crops
  • Crop Maintenance & Husbandry – Plan and deliver against the annual husbandry tasks and labour requirements.  Implement irrigation, fertigation and plant protection products as required throughout the season and maintain records to enable future analysis and improvements. Ensure that spraying is in compliance with current legislation and agreed guidelines.
  • Yield information  & Crop Calendar – Providing accurate yield information, developing an annual crop calendar, husbandry manpower plan, carry out monthly stock takes of chemical and fertilizers; ensure that field maps are correct and up to date.
  • Crop monitoring – Ensure that crop and environmental systems are accurately controlled and monitored all the times. Arrange leaf, soil and water analysis to the matrix plan. Ensure bio controls are applied in time. Ensure pests and diseases are monitored and appropriate action is taken. Produce a crop prediction report on weekly basis. Ensure that all growing practices and procedures are compliant with Nurtures Choice, Assured Produce and any other auditing bodies.
  • Quality assurance & Communication  – Work closely with Technical Department. Ensure that any potential problems are reported to Head of Growing or in his absence the operations Director.

What we are looking for:-

  • Someone with at least 4-5 years in a similar role
  • Must have ‘hands on’ growing management experience
  • Must have Fresh Produce experience (current)
  • FACTS, BASIS, PRIVA, PA1, 2, 6a and b. preferable.
  • You would be commercial focused and understand how an effective and efficiently run growing operation can contribute to stronger overall business profitability.
  • You would be a strong communicator and be used to working with growing teams in a similar way

We are looking for someone with experience in strawberries in table top production along with excellent skills in the use of PRIVA and knowledge of heating.
