Broad Description of the Position

Our client are a leading company in the Fresh Produce Industry and have expanded significantly in recent years.  Due to this increasing success, there is a need to expand their Procurement team to meet the increasing demands from both their customers and their suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

A leading Fresh Produce company based in Kent are looking for a HR and Finance Assistant to join there team!!

 

Accountabilities

  1. To be responsible for the accurate and timely running of the payroll ensuring compliance with Company policy, Inland Revenue rules, and legal requirements, including tax processes and reconciliation.
  2. To be responsible for year end and P60.
  3. To maintain records, including Payroll, absence, holiday, overtime, maternity, paternity etc.
  4. To maintain all Personnel files and HR documentation in accordance with Company policy and legal requirements.
  5. To manage the starter and leaver process for staff, ensuring contracts and relevant starter forms are issued, identity documents and passports are checked and copied, and next of kin details are taken.
  6. To ensure leaver interviews are conducted with all leavers.
  7. To process any HR changes, including updating Job descriptions, updates to contracts, general HR letters and administration.
  8. To reconcile hours worked by agency staff with invoices received and ensure correct payment.
  9. To process Kelio reports.
  10. To provide a general accounts administration service ensuring the accounting system is maintained.
  11. To assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and deputise for the Management Accountant in his absence.
  12. To provide accounts support in relation to purchase ledger, sales ledgers, reconciliation of cashbook, credit control, bank reconciliations, inter company recharges and reconciliation VAT returns and reconciliation, and processing BACS payments.
  13. To prepare weekly/monthly cash-flow statements.
  14. To analyse, interpret and improve site management information. To assist with the formulation of KPIs, ensuring they’re monitored and developed.

The Production Shift Manger must have previous experience in a Fresh Produce company.

 

The main responsibilities of the role are as follows:

  • Oversee production operation in pack house and support Assistant Production Manager
  • Ensure adequate fruit has been sourced, sufficient and appropriate labour provided and workload planned as to best utilise resources.
  • Monitor productivity levels, provide estimates and year on year comparisons
  • Staff recruitment,
  • plan weekly rotas,
  • holiday planning,

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

To promote agronomic best practice in order that our client’s grower members may become the most technically competent, profitable and aware in the UK industry, and specifically to:

  • Understand and appreciate the aims of the Advisory Service
  • Undertake regular visits to members’ farms to a schedule agreed with each individual member and Senior Regional Agronomist prior to the commencement of each season, to include;
  • Pest and disease monitoring reported by ICMS Sheet following each visit
  • Control recommendations provided through the Muddy Boots GLGM platform, including use and distribution of ‘beneficial species’
  • Crop notes and photos to be communicated to the grower highlighting specific issues
  • Incorporation and interpretation of trapping data provided by the pest monitoring team
  • Organise and participate in taking of soil or substrate, plant, leaf or sap samples, including ‘Plant Health’ testing.
  • Planning and prescription of Integrated Pest Management Strategies
  • Basic Crop husbandry and hygiene recommendations, in accordance with Senior Regional Agronomists direction

Our client are a extremely well known and highly successful international Fresh Produce company. They are looking for a Quality Assurance candidate, with Fresh Produce experience, to join their team in Kent.

Summary of the role:

The Quality Controller will support our client’s team with all aspects of technical, quality and operational activities, with the QC’s primary role relating to intake QC and inspection / collation of customer orders.

The QC will assist with ensuring that an efficient and effective quality control service is provided so that customer requirements are continually achieved and that product quality communication back to the Fresh Produce team and its growers / suppliers is timely and accurate.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

Quality Management

  • Principal role to ensure all products are inspected and assessed in line with our client’s inspection procedures at all of their sites.
  • Ensure that arrivals of product are inspected and assessed according to customer requirements.
  • Support the commercial team by providing accurate QC information.  To develop and maintain a sustainable, balanced working relationship between service providers from a quality and production perspective.
  • To ensure all intake reports are completed accurately and filed correctly and communicated to the relevant commercial team, Customer Quality Manager and supplier in a timely manner.
  • Assist the commercial team in making sound decisions on matters relating to product quality, product allocation and any relevant technical requirements, ensuring they understand customer specification and product requirements.
  • Create value by managing product quality to meet customer specification and by providing a logical voice of reason at difficult times when product is border line.
  • Manage a workable non compliance procedure.
  • Understand and be prepared to support the team with operational matters at the designated site (stock management, samples, benchmarking, availability issues etc).

Senior Regional Agronomist

This is a new role within a Agronomy Team in order to manage Scotland. Our client are a well known and well respected Fresh Produce company… They are continuously growing and it would be a great career move to join their Agronomy team as a Senior Regional Agronomist.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

To promote and facilitate agronomic best practice, planning and metrics in order that our client’s members may become the most technically competent, profitable and aware in the UK industry, and specifically to:

  •  Promote and facilitate the aims of the Advisory Service
  •  Manage Agronomic Services across the region and ensure professional integrity of the regional team and quality of delivered advice.
  • Ensure that where defined by the Agronomy Manger standard operating procedures are implemented and maintained.
  • Support Regional Agronomists in any areas where ‘trouble shooting’ is necessary
  • Demonstrate knowledge and familiarity with all crops produced by the company
  • Provide an effective liaison between Technical, Sales Teams and Growers
  • Undertake regular visits to members’ farms to a schedule agreed with each individual member prior to the commencement of each season. To discuss, plan and facilitate;

  • Contribute fortnightly technical notes for inclusion in a regular in house bulletin, covering the most relevant current cultural topics for crops, highlighting particular areas of attention in that relevant period
  • To devise, plan organise and facilitate training events, meetings, farm walks and any other such events held to support and expand members (and their staff’s) knowledge and understanding
  • Support and advise the introduction of beneficial new varieties.  Assisting in selecting most suitable varieties for the site, soil and production systems, and to ensure that the best agronomic practices for each of the new varieties are being acted upon and implemented
  • Attend and participate in Benchmarking programmes and demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of financial performance
  • Provide information and crop production related material for circulation to members via the Extranet website.

Our client is a successful and continuously growing Fresh Produce company, involved with UK retailers and non retail outlets. They are looking for a QA Assistant for the evening shifts.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • To deal with fruit quality and labeling issues as they occur, carrying out tests and checks and ensure any failures are documented appropriately.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • To carry out shelf life test and to ensure that all staff involved in taking shelf life samples are completing paperwork as required.
  • To remove from the Packhouse any redundant labels following the completions of jobs.
  • To ensure that metal detector and weight checks are being carried out and documented at the correct intervals. To ensure that any failures in this area are documented and notified to the head supervisor and engineering manager.
  • Ensure that Standard Operating Procedures are being followed as required.
  • Liaise with sales and procurement teams as required.
  • Assist with the development of new packing processes and quality management procedures that may occur from time to time.

Our client is one of the leading international businesses in fresh produce, with a very strong supply base across a number of core products and strong relationships with key clients here in the UK and abroad. Due to further expansion they are now looking for looking for a talented senior trader / sales manager with a combination of exceptional buying and selling skills to join them and help take their business forward. They have a very exciting Fresh Produce business in the UK and have a outstanding track record with retail or non retail customers.

They are looking for a particular individual who is currently buying and selling to category managers, importers, packers and processors. This is principally an mixed position, combing sales, trading and procurement therefore if you have import / procurement experience this would be very valuable.

For this position we will be looking for candidates will preferably Non Retail – Wholesale customer experience. You will be working from the Kent office within our clients wholesale trading team.

As Sales Manager / Trader for our client, you will be working closely with the Sales Team, it is expected you will have a minimum of five years selling and buying experience in Fresh Produce or similar. 

  • You will have a sound background in fresh produce trading with a clear track record of delivering to the bottom line.
  • You will also be a strong relationship builder with food service businesses, wholesalers and category managers alike and have developed these over a period of time.
  • You will be able to spot opportunities and exploit them, managing the costs so as to maximise the trading margin ultimately to meet your profit targets.
  • Reporting in to the Trading Director you will be tasked with the development of new accounts across the retailers, the category managers and the larger of the food service, processing and catering businesses.
  • You would be extremely personable, with excellent customer facing and commercial skills. Your IT skills would be excellent and most importantly you would have a proven track record in Trading / Sales.

 

We are looking for someone who has the following experience / knowledge:

Our client is a thriving Spanish company that focus on exporting fruit and vegetables to Scandinavia and Baltic countries. Our client is an international company, consisting of thirteen companies in three counties. This role will be based in Catalonia, Spain.

They are growing at a extremely rapid rate and due to this continued expansion, they are on the hunt for more people to join their buying and sales teams! Their team is  a multinational team, consisting of people from 8 different countries, with very different back grounds.

Our client serves the Retail, Food Service and Wholesale sectors  Scandinavia and Baltic countries, with other customers around the world including the UK (But their main focus is Scandinavia and Baltic).
